1982 Jeanneau Sun Fizz 40
£39,950
One of Phillippe Briand’s excellent designs the Sun Fizz forty boasts a ballast ration of 41% making her a very stable vessel particularly on long passages and open water sailing. With a well designed interior Dabrona would be an excellent choice for a cruising family , she has three spacious cabins and accommodate six people without having to resort to using the saloon for additional berths.

Built at a time when GRP vessels were massively over engineered Dabrona represents excellent value for money. She is powered by a Perkins 4108 that had a complete rebuild in 2017/18 and has since completed a mere 62 hours of work. At the time of the rebuild a new gearbox was fitted. Much work has recently been done to upgrade the electrical systems and remove redundant wiring. The navigational aids are all recent installations and all are in good working order.
Her accommodation comprises of a double berth cabin forward with open shelves to port and starboard, large hanging locker to port with a dressing table to starboard. The bright and airy heads are located to port, opposite the dressing table area, and fitted with washbasin having a hot and cold mixer tap, and a Jabsco manual sea toilet. The saloon stretches over the full beam of the vessel with a u shaped seating area to port and single linear sofa to stable, this enables the teak dining table to be used to its full potential providing comfortable dining facilities for at least nine persons. The saloon is trimmed extensively in teak with blue soft furnishings and a teak and holly sole. Dabrona has two double berth cabins aft the starboard of which is fitted with a Jabsco sea toilet and washbasin in a sort of open plan configuration. The galley lies forward of the port aft cabin and is fitted with a gas stove having three burners, a grill and an oven, a wash basin with hot and cold running water. She is also equipped with both a fridge and a freezer. Entertainment is provided by a Garmin Fusion sound system and the saloon can be heated by a relatively new diesel fired warm air system.
This is a considerable amount of vessel for not much money, with the addition of further communication equipment and water maker etc she is more than capable of taking you anywhere you wish on this planet of hours. She is currently lying on a marina pontoon berth within the safe confines of Whitehaven harbour located on the west coast of Cumbria and having direct access to the Irish sea.
