Accommodation and layout
Below decks is as you would expect from a builder of this pedigree. The interior is warm, welcoming and has a traditional feel whilst feeling luxurious. The interior wood is a mixture of teak and mahogany. The upholstery is well padded and covered in classic wine coloured hard wearing materials.
The main saloon is entered from the cockpit. There is a sliding perspex hatch and a set of three wooden wash boards.
The headroom is great and those above 6 foot will appreciate this.
The galley is to port and features a gas fuelled oven with 2-burner hob and grill. The work space is good and a cover extends over the cooker and the double stainless steel sink. Top loading large capacity fridge takes care of the perishables. There is oodles of storage too making long range cruising a reality.
Aft of the galley is the aft cabin with double berth. There is a hanging locker for clothing, opening port for light and ventilation and 12V lighting for reading.
Adjacent is the heads compartment with sea toilet and shower. This easy clean area is finished in white making the space feel larger than it already is. Again there is ventilation and 12V lighting and a wet locker for the oil skins.
Forward of the heads is the large chart table with forward facing seat and chart storage. Situated here is the 12/240V panel with tank and battery gauges. Also here is the huge range of electronic navigation aids from plotter to VHF and up to date information via the navtex.
The saloon has a central table with drop leaves. Either side are comfortable settee/berths and again acres of great usable cupboard storage.
Forward of the saloon bulkhead is the large double berthed cabin with open shelf lockers, hanging locker, two cupboards and an opening deck hatch for natural light and ventilation.
Boat kept warm and dry by diesel fired heating. This extends the season greatly and is a must when boating in our Northern waters.

Manufacturer Provided Description
New techniques and many years of experience ensure that the Najad 331 is a product of perfection from Najad. The Najad 331 is a modern long distance cruiser with sailing performance and layout fulfilling the highest requirements for coastal cruising and blue water sailing. The Najad 331 is designed with a long waterline and the stern lifted up from the water. This results in a slimed hull with a full and finer line for the water to flow. The stern is wide to give space for the cockpit and the spacious aft cabin, and also to increase the stiffness and the down wind performances. The bow is designed to part the waves in the roughest sees. An integral swimming platform is built into the stern for comfort and safety. The design and length of the keel gives Najad 331 good course stability and motion at sea. Out of the water the keel is long enough to be stepped on the shore, secured with additional supports. An alternative shallow ballast keel can be chosen as extra equipment, givning the Najad 331 a reduced draught of 20 cm. The design is of NACA profiles to optimise the water flow on keel and rudder/skeg. The balanced rudder also improves the steering. The rig is fractional with the proportion 19/20. The advantages with this rigging system is that there can be tension in the forestay like in a masthead rig, but still the possibility to bend the mast like on a 7/8 rig to flatten out the main. The sail surface is relatively high, which together with the displacement of the boat, gives the boat very good tacking performances. Ballast ratio 40 per cent. Below deck the layout is basically the same as in many of the other Najad models. A well proven seaboat configuration.
